Roxanne Langdon of Roxanne's Ribbons in Santa Cruz, CA
(www.roxannesribbons.com) designed the pattern for this lovely needle case. Her silk photo transfer of a fan and the plan for construction were a joy to work with. She was a featured instructor at the Petaluma Quilt Guild when I met her.
Following my usual urge to embellish, I expanded the original stitch plan with folded ribbon roses, fresh water pearls, gold beads, cascades of French knots, silk trims and a commercial embroidery for the back . Inside is a chintz lining.
Roxanne is also a terrific Crazy Quilter, teacher and member of EGA. Her work has been chosen for the prestigious Pacific International Quilt Show. I'm honored to call her a friend.
Friendship Quilt Squares
The wonderful Petaluma, California Quilt Guild
(www.petalumaquiltguild.org) offers a Friendship Applique group. Members can build large quilts with the help of others, each contributing one square in the chosen pattern. Once you contribute enough squares, it's your turn to start a quilt. These are some of my recent squares for others. I almost have enough 'points' to start my own quilt!
